Why this matters

The idea behind it

Some children can't stay in their seat. They squirm, they slide off, they get up mid-meal or mid-homework, not because they don't want to sit — but because their body isn't giving them the steady, grounded signal a still body needs.

The Weighted Lap Pad rests gently across your child's thighs and delivers that signal. The soft, evenly distributed weight gives what OTs call proprioceptive input — a calming, organising pressure that helps the nervous system settle. Many children who can't sit through a meal, a story, or 20 minutes of homework can do it comfortably with a lap pad on. Because it stays with the child rather than the chair, it works at the dining table, in the car, on the sofa, during travel — anywhere sitting still is hard.

— Safety & care —
Always use with adult supervision. Use only on the lap or thighs; do not place on chest, face, or neck. Not suitable for babies or for unsupervised use. Choose the weight to suit your child's body size — see guidance below. Spot clean or hand wash cold, air dry flat.
Material: Polyester-spandex with Minky dot cover, weighted with non-toxic poly-pellets.
Packed & marketed by NeuroBuddy India.

How to use it at home

Week 1

Try it during a favourite activity

Start with something your child already enjoys — a story, a show, an art activity. Place the lap pad gently across their thighs. Let them lift it off if they want to. No pressure to keep it on.

Week 2

Use it for the hard sits

Move to the situations where sitting is hard — homework, mealtimes, waiting rooms. Ten to twenty minutes at a time is plenty. Most children settle within a few minutes.

Week 3

Build it into their day

Keep it near the dining table or study desk. Let your child choose when to reach for it. That sense of control is often what makes the difference.

The NeuroBuddy promise

Every product is designed with occupational therapists

Our clinical panel works with Indian children every day. Every product is reviewed for safety, developmental fit, and how well it works in a real home — not just a clinic. If your child's OT recommends something different, listen to them first. We're a tool, not a substitute for therapy.
