Built from listening
After 12 years in healthcare marketing across Indian and US multinational companies, our founder, Dr Sunita Setia, left corporate life in search of work with deeper purpose. Having seen friends and family navigate the realities of raising neurodivergent children - the questions, uncertainty and everyday effort involved - she felt drawn to creating meaningful support for neurodivergent children and their families - while being deeply aware of how much she did not yet understand.
So she did not begin with products. She began by listening.
Over six months, Sunita spoke repeatedly with 30 parents and consulted 14 specialists, including occupational therapists, speech-language professionals, special educators, BCBA's , developmental paediatricians and child psychologists.
Every family’s story was different, but the same questions kept returning:
What should I work on next?
How do I know whether my child is progressing?
What - and whom - can I trust?
Those questions shaped NeuroBuddy.
From uncertainty to a clearer path
Parents did not need another collection of random developmental products. They needed a way to understand their child’s current skills, which foundations were already in place and what the next meaningful step could be.
NeuroBuddy’s approach draws on an established, evidence-informed developmental framework. With guidance from our expert panel, we organised 17 foundational skills across six developmental domains and translated them into a simple Readiness Assessment for parents.
Our recommendations follow a progression of skills. If a child has already developed a particular skill, we do not recommend a product intended to build that skill. If a skill is better developed through interaction with a parent or therapist, we provide free guides and demonstrations instead of recommending a product.
This principle matters to us.
