Why this matters

The idea behind it

Most shape-learning at home happens through flashcards - child looks at a card, adult names the shape, child repeats. The information stays flat.

Buddy Builds turns shape recognition into something the child does with their hands. Each of the four levels uses a different mechanic to reach the brain from a different angle. Level 1: build a shape with sticks. Level 2: drop pom poms along a coloured outline. Level 3: fit a piece into a cutout. Level 4: match a black shadow to the real object - a diamond becomes a kite.

By the time your child moves from sticks to shadows, they don't just know what a circle looks like. They know how it's put together, what it feels like in their hands, and where they've seen it in real life. That's the foundation letters and numbers sit on.
Is this for my child?

Best for

Children 2.5+ who are starting preschool, beginning to recognise letters, or whose parents want to build the pre-reading foundation without flashcards. Best used in short 10–15 minute play sessions, not as a lesson. Open one level at a time and move up only when your child is ready.

How to use it at home

Week 1

Start with Level 1 - Sticks

Show one outline card. Give the matching-colour sticks. Step back and let them build. Start with the square — it's the easiest shape to construct. Keep sessions to 10–15 minutes. Stop while they're still enjoying it.

Week 2

Move to Level 2 - Pom poms

Once your child builds 4–5 shapes confidently with sticks, switch to pom poms. Same shapes, different mechanic. Dropping pom poms along a multi-coloured outline builds fine motor control alongside shape recognition.

Week 3

Levels 3 and 4 - Cutouts and Shadows

Level 3 tests spatial fit — does this piece belong in this cutout? Level 4 asks the brain to match a shape to its shadow, then to a real object. Move up only when your child is ready. Some children stay on Level 2 for a month — that's normal.

The NeuroBuddy promise

Every product is designed with occupational therapists

Our clinical panel works with Indian children every day. Every product is reviewed for safety, developmental fit, and how well it works in a real home — not just a clinic. If your child's OT recommends something different, listen to them first. We're a tool, not a substitute for therapy.
